Bergenia by the Sea

Bergenia is a spring-blooming flower with showy pink petals and fleshy leaves that are said to squeal if rubbed against each other, giving rise to the unlovely folk name "pigsqueak." this clump is growing in Sechelt, where it survives wind, drought, and salt from the Georgia Strait.

The painting is acrylic, 11 x 14 ins., and framed. painted in 2019.

Sold at MidMain Art Fair, 2024.
