Acrylic, 30 x 36 ins., 2016.
This painting is not for sale. I painted it for my own home, as a memorial to my dear friend Edna, who died of cancer in 2012. Edna and I walked around Deer Lake, in Burnaby, dozens, maybe hundreds, of times, in all weathers and all seasons. The group of cormorants suggested the sombre mood, and the title.
